The Housing Assistant is a hands-on, guest-facing role that focuses on creating a clean, safe, and welcoming living environment for team members living in staff housing. This full-time year-round position plays a key part in preparing rooms for new residents, keeping shared spaces clean and orderly, answering daily housing questions, and offering on-the-ground support. The Housing Assistant will interact with residents regularly and work closely with the Housing Manager, Maintenance, and Safety to ensure a smooth housing experience for all.

Responsibilities:Typical job functions Include (but not limited to):
- Prepares rooms and common areas for new move-ins, including cleaning, linen setup, and light room organization
- Completes daily housing cleaning tasks (hallways, kitchens, common areas)
- Follows and enforces all employee housing rules, safety guidelines, and emergency procedures
- Responds to resident questions or concerns in person, by phone, or by email in a timely and professional manner
- Supports housing move-ins by welcoming residents, reviewing rules, and helping them settle in
- Monitors cleanliness and condition of all housing areas and notifies Maintenance as needed
- Performs room inspections and identifies cleaning or maintenance needs
- Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and basic amenities
- Delivers housing notices, assists with key distribution and replacement
- Helps resolve minor resident conflicts or directs them to the appropriate department
- Assists with snow removal at housing entrances during winter months
- Assists with planning or supporting small cultural and social activities for residents
- Supports mail and package sorting and distribution to residents
- Reports concerning behaviors or incidents to Housing Manager or Safety
- Utilizes and maintains StarRez housing software platform
- Performs other duties as assigned in support of the Housing Team
This position may be for you if:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Additional skills in basic building maintenance, construction and/or plumbing considered a plus.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

- Basic computer knowledge, MS Word and Excel required; PowerPoint preferred
- Ability to utilize critical thinking skills in decision-making situations, good organizational and record-keeping skills, and good independent judgment
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential material.
- Must have the ability to communicate and relate effectively with a very diverse group of team members.
- Must be able to lift up to and more than 50 pounds
- Prior experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or residential support preferred
- Friendly, helpful, and approachable with strong communication skills
- Able to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks, including cleaning and room setup
- Organized, reliable, and able to work independently with limited supervision
