Position Summary:
The Assistant Executive Housekeeper works under the direction of the Executive Housekeeper to help ensure and maintain the cleanliness of the entire Asbury Inn & Suites facility, including guestrooms, public spaces, offices, etc. The Assistant Executive Housekeeper strives to contribute to the Seminary's mission of hospitality by providing a clean and welcoming environment for all guests and visitors at the Inn.
Essential Functions:
- Leads Housekeeping Team in the Executive Housekeeper’s absence.
- Leads the Housekeeping Team in cleaning guestrooms in preparation for guests. (Making beds, stocking and sanitizing rooms, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming)
- Works with Operations Manager and Front Desk Staff to resolve guest concerns, including guestroom troubleshooting and maintenance requests.
- Aims to ensure that every guestroom is clean and ready for use at the end of the day.
- Oversees the training of new employees.
- Cleaning Guestrooms
- Fill out and interpret housekeeping reports, as well as understand the hotel management software
- Clean and disinfect guestrooms (remove trash and dirty linens, make beds, vacuum, clean bathrooms)
- Perform yearly "Deep Cleaning" of rooms (move furniture, turn mattresses, clean a/c units, defrost refrigerators, clean walls, etc.)
- Communicate with Executive Housekeeper and Front Desk Staff regarding room statuses and potential maintenance.
- Coordinate with Front Desk Staff to provide stayover service for guests currently in house.
- Maintain Linens, Towels, and other Guestroom Amenities
- Sort, wash, fold, and store laundry.
- Stock various closets with linens, towels, cleaning supplies, and guestroom amenities.
- Takes bi-weekly inventory of guestroom and cleaning items, including trash bags, tissues, soaps, hot and cold cups, gloves, cleaning chemicals, etc.
- Clean Hotel Facilities
- Clean, disinfect, vacuum, sweep/mop, and collect trash in offices, front desk area, and public restrooms.
- Perform biweekly cleaning of hallways, public spaces, stairwells, laundry and fitness facilities, housekeeping areas, etc.
- Assist Executive Housekeeper with Guestroom Projects & Upgrades
- Work under the direction of the Executive Housekeeper to assist in the replacement or upgrade of furniture, guestroom amenities, etc.
Qualifications
Required/Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of custodial skills and procedures.
- Strong communication skills, able to effectively convey information and ideas clearly.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, specifically the ability to prioritize job tasks.
- Flexibility, including evaluating and selecting alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Interpersonal skills, able to manage team dynamics as well as guest interactions.
- Lifting up to 40lbs, possibly on a daily basis.
- The primary shift for this position will be Wednesday-Sunday morning/afternoon. Must be able to work holidays excluding Christmas.
- Availability to work beyond scheduled shift on an emergency basis.
Education and Experience
- Preferably, 1 year of Team Leadership/Management experience.
- Preferably, previous cleaning/custodial experience.
