Director of Summer Programming
Reports To: President
Job Overview:
The Director of Summer Programming is a full-time, twelve-month employee of Purcell Marian High School who provides leadership and logistical support for all summer programming at the school, including but not limited to athletic camps, academic enrichment camps, Camp Cavalier, summer school, and summer bridge programming. The Director works closely with the President, Principal, faculty, and staff to develop and deliver affordable, mission-aligned programming to elementary and middle school students as well as Purcell Marian High School students. The Director ensures that summer offerings enhance student engagement, strengthen community relationships, and support enrollment growth.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Leadership & Development
●Design, plan, and oversee all summer academic, athletic, and enrichment programs.
●Develop new summer offerings that serve elementary and middle school students, current Purcell Marian students, and the broader community.
●Collaborate with faculty, staff, coaches, and community partners to create engaging, mission-driven summer programming.
●Ensure alignment of all programming with Purcell Marian’s Marianist values and educational philosophy.
●Collaborates with members of the school community to develop and implement targeted summer programming that serves as an enrollment feeder for the school.
Operations & Administration
●Develop and manage the summer program calendar, schedules, and staffing plans.
●Oversee registration systems, communications, and participant logistics.
●Ensure compliance with all school policies, health and safety regulations, and legal requirements.
●Coordinate use of campus facilities and collaborate with the Athletic Director and Facilities Director for setup, maintenance, and security.
●Manage all aspects of risk management and emergency planning for summer programs.
●Recruits, develops, and retains program leads and counselors to deliver programming.
●Maintains, publishes, and promotes the summer programming schedule.
●Ensures the safety of all summer students by developing and implementing security measures and maintaining effective communication with parents.
Financial Management
●Develop and oversee program budgets to ensure financial sustainability.
●Set pricing structures, manage expenses, and track revenues.
●Provide financial reports and projections to school leadership.
●Responsible for maintaining a balanced budget for summer programming and seeking sources of revenue to provide high-quality and affordable prices.
Marketing & Enrollment
●Work with the Director of Communications and the Enrollment Department to market summer offerings and attract new families to campus.
●Develop marketing materials, website content, and outreach strategies to increase visibility and participation.
●Track and analyze enrollment data to assess program success and inform future offerings.
●Oversees the marketing, promotion, and enrollment of summer camps and programs.
●Supports Enrollment events such as open house, info night, and shadow days.
●Other duties as assigned by the President
Qualifications
●Bachelor’s Degree required.
●Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in program management, summer camp administration, or educational leadership, preferred.
●Commitment to the mission, values, and Catholic and Marianist identity of Purcell Marian High School.
●Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
●Experience in organizing and delivering complex processes and collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders.
●Proven ability to manage budgets, logistics, and staff effectively.
●Experience with marketing, enrollment management, registration software, digital communication platforms and budget management.
●Warm and outgoing personality capable of winning support for summer programs through enrollment and collaboration.
●An organized and self-directed leader who is capable of problem-solving and innovating programming.
●Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with students and families of all backgrounds and all abilities.
●Capable of representing the school well with feeder schools, parents, and community partners.
●Experience in partnership development and community outreach.
●Ability to think strategically and creatively about programming that supports school enrollment and visibility.
●Understanding of child safety, supervision, and emergency response best practices.
