PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Hiring Salary: $22.30 - $27.87

OVERVIEW OF JOB
The Fleet Courier job supports the Fleet Department by transporting vehicles and equipment, including radios, parts, and other equipment, for service, maintenance, and/or repair.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide customer service to city departments by transporting vehicles, repair parts, supplies, and equipment
- Wash and fuel vehicles/equipment as needed
- Inspect vehicles/equipment for body damage while identifying other potential safety problems
- Complete reports and maintain records
- May handle firearms and/or ammunition
- Performs additional duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED
Experience:
- 12 months of manual labor experience
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Commercial Driver’s License (Preferred)
Abilities:
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, all levels of management including executive staff, citizens, and elected officials
- Handle sensitive situation with tact and diplomacy
WORKING CONDITIONS
Essential Personnel:
- When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by the City, all City of Aurora employees may be required to work as essential personnel.
Physical Demands:
- Medium physical work requiring ability to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Considerable walking and standing
- Frequent pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and stooping
- Hand/foot coordination for operation of vehicle
- Vision to read and interpret written information
- Speech communication, hearing, and listening for communication with employees and residents.
Work Environment:
- Works both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Equipment Used:
- Operates motorized vehicles, power-washers, compressors, and other tools as necessary.
