How You’ll Contribute
As a Disbursement Senior Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions within our Life Administration team. You’ll collaborate across departments—including Underwriting, Legal/Compliance, and Actuarial—to deliver exceptional customer service and operational excellence. This role supports the accurate processing of complex disbursements and helps train new team members to strengthen departmental knowledge and consistency.

What You’ll Do
- Provide technical expertise and handle escalated, complex disbursement transactions and inquiries independently.
- Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with regulations, accuracy, and service standards.
- Identify system or process inefficiencies and assist with implementing updates and enhancements.
- Participate in testing new administrative system features and collaborating with IT on improvements.
- Analyze workflows to propose and support initiatives that enhance departmental processes and knowledge.
- Document and revise procedures to reflect best practices and new regulations.
- Review and interpret transaction paperwork, applying sound decision-making and clear communication.
- Train new staff members on EquiTrust procedures and life insurance regulations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the Call Center and provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all EquiTrust products and ensure adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
What You’ll Bring
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of processing experience required.
- 3 or more years of life insurance or financial transaction experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities—both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to change effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to navigate multiple administrative systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and professionalism in all interactions.
- Strong sense of accountability and commitment to delivering equitable, high-quality service.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform computer-based tasks continuously (5.5–8 hours per day).
- Frequent talking, hearing, and visual engagement required.
- Occasional walking, bending, or reaching above shoulder level.
- Minimal lifting (up to 10 lbs).
