GENERAL SUMMARY
The Senior Developer will shape our web development initiatives, utilizing advanced coding expertise and headless CMS experience to deliver high-performance, scalable websites. They'll design, develop, and deploy web applications. As a senior position, the role expects experience, decision-making and leadership; not continual guidance.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
Reporting to the Senior Manager I.T. Development, the Senior Developer will guide and interact with a team of developers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the successful execution of projects from conception to deployment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical Expertise and Advisement:
- Build on previous web experience to write professional and error-proof code.
- Advise on technical direction and standards for web development projects.
- Advise and mentor less-experienced developers.
- Next.js Development:
- Utilize expertise in Next.js to architect and develop robust and performant web applications.
- Implement responsive and engaging user interfaces based on design files or descriptions provided by product designers and product managers.
- Headless CMS Integration:
- Utilize the company’s headless CMS for data retrieval for the web sites.
- Collaborate with backend developers to optimize CMS workflow.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Interact with cross-functional teams, including product designers, product managers, and QA, to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Communicate technical concepts and requirements effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Web Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in web development.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and a deep understanding of React.js and Next.js frameworks.
- Experience working with headless CMS platforms (e.g., Drupal, Contentful, Strapi, Hygraph).
- Solid understanding of web application architecture and design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with modern web development tools and workflows.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This role follows a hybrid working model, with a base out of one of the following Preferred Travel Group office locations: Chicago, IL; Newport Beach, CA; New York, NY; or Washington DC. Associates are generally expected to work from the office a minimum of 3 days per week, allowing for a balance of in-person collaboration and flexible remote working. Remote working conditions will be considered for candidates who are not located near a Preferred Travel Group office. Employee is seated most of the time.

SALARY
$105,000-115,000 annually; actual compensation within this range will be determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise.
