1st Shift FORKLIFT DRIVER chez MUZA METAL PRODUCTS LLC

Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Drives propane gas or electric forklifts to deliver product or material to operators.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus
• Transports loads to designated areas
• Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device
• Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with material
• Makes sure inventory is properly labeled
• Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or baskets
• Completes inspection sheets on forklift daily to reduce safety hazards
• Follow company safety policies to minimize accident exposure
• Proper use of tablet for inventory control
• Support other areas of the operation when needed as requested by supervisor

Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Minimum of 6 months experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
