GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: A Harvest Analyst in the sugar cane fields is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on harvest data in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the sugar cane harvest process. They work with sugar cane farmers and mill operators to develop and implement harvest plans, and to identify and address any challenges that arise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement harvest plans.
- Monitor and track harvest performance.
- Identify and address challenges that arise during the harvest process.
- Analyze harvest data to identify trends and patterns.
- Develop recommendations for improving the harvest process.
- Create and deliver reports on harvest performance to management and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other members of the team to develop and implement harvest plans.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest agricultural practices and technologies
- Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the different varieties of sugar cane, the different stages of sugar cane growth, and the best practices for planting, harvesting, and transporting sugar cane.
- Knowledge of the different types of sugar cane harvesting equipment, the different harvesting methods, and the best practices for maximizing sugar cane yield and quality.
- Ability to collect, clean, and analyze large datasets of sugar cane harvest data. This includes the ability to identify trends and patterns in the data, and to develop recommendations for improving the sugar cane harvest process.
- Ability to create and deliver clear and concise reports on sugar cane harvest performance to management and other stakeholders.
- Must be able to read blueprints, and field drawings.
- Ability to safely work on an isolated farm location or in a location where work is being performed with minimal supervision.
- Ability to develop and implement harvest plans, and to track and manage harvest progress.
- Ability to communicate effectively with sugar cane farmers, mill operators, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
- Must be dependable, punctual individual who is committed to showing up for work and someone who will contribute to our team atmosphere and wants to be with a growing company.
- Must have excellent "people skills", including the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of customers, and co-workers.
- Bilingual and Biliterate – English and Spanish, preferred.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATION: Class E (Regular) driver’s license, required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three (3) years of experience in quality assurance and data collection
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work in hot, cold, wet, humid, dusty, and foggy working conditions depending on weather.
- Sitting, Walking, Standing, Kneeling, Crawling, Climbing, and Reaching
- Lifting occasionally up to 25 pounds.
