GHSP, based in West Michigan, is a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems to the automotive, transportation, and appliance industry. GHSP is currently hiring a Human Resource Generalist to join our Human Resources team in Hart. 

 

What You'll Do:

Staffing and Recruiting  

Assists with recruitment selection and staffing needs. Coordinates temporary/contractor staffing needs with team leaders, managers, and employment services. Initiates and tracks orders and verifies billings. Participate in the interviewing and selection process for open positions. Administers Predictive Index Surveys. Post, track, and communicate job openings and awards. 

 

New Employee On Boarding/Off Boarding  

Ensures New Hire Checklist has been completed and fulfills all check-in stages. Coordinates with managers to ensure new hires feel welcome and receive the support needed to be successful. Verifies all necessary training on the company's background/history, culture, and values is received through the LMS. Ensures decommissioning process is completed when needed. 

Payroll Administration

Process front end of payroll process, locking and verifying timecards for accuracy. Review payroll reports and conduct regular audits of payroll procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance. Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payroll.

 

Benefit Administration  

Processes enrollments, changes and dis-enrollment to all related benefit programs. Verifies COBRA notices are sent as needed. Verifies enrollment and change forms have been properly processed before filing forms. Verifies billing of benefits. Assists the Human Resource Manager in the administration and management of FMLA and disability benefits. 

 

HRIS Data Accuracy  

Maintains employment data. Understands, utilizes and maintains HR systems to ensure data is accurate and available. Enters employment related data into databases. Actively generates ideas for improving the utilization of the HRIS systems. Performs necessary modification of files, records and information retention and maintenance systems. Generates necessary corrective action notices and administers discipline notices. Performs attendance and PTO audits. 

 

Assumes responsibility for information distribution.  

Ensures all relevant information is communicated via email and general postings. Ensures postings are updated and maintained. 

 

Employee Engagement  

Provides HR related help to support GHSP core values and increase engagement. Initiates steps to resolve employee engagement issues. Also includes company communication and posting, record keeping, employee purchases, and other appropriate support duties as requested. Coordinates EAC/TERN 

 

Human Resource Leadership   

Takes leadership over the Human Resource function as needed when the Human Resources Manager is not available. Provides support and participation in various committees such as the Bargaining Committee, Partnership Committee, Employee Stakeholders Committee, ERT Committee, Activities Committee, The Intern Strategy Committee, and Safety Committee. 

 

Supports Training and Development  

Provides assistance for tuition reimbursement benefit. Process requests and audits for policy compliance. Assists in setting up training activities and audits for mainstay compliance. 

 

Supports Safety and Risk Management  

Understand and support safety and emergency response regulations and best practices to the work environment. Assists with drug testing procedure.
