About the Role
As a Hotel Engineer I, you’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring our newest Gravity Haus property operates safely, smoothly, and sustainably. From troubleshooting and repairs to preventive maintenance and guest interaction, you’re a behind-the-scenes hero who makes exceptional stays possible.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, takes initiative, and embraces challenges with curiosity and care.
What You'll Do
- Perform daily preventive maintenance on hotel systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, and hot tub/cold plunge spa amenities.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, guest rooms, and public spaces to uphold Gravity Haus standards.
- Complete and track maintenance requests using our internal tracking system
- Collaborate across departments (Front Desk, Housekeeping, F&B) to resolve issues quickly and professionally.
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms and facilities to identify potential concerns before they become problems.
- Ensure compliance with all town codes, fire safety regulations, and brand protocols.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate third-party service calls as needed.
- Assist with snow removal, landscaping, or weather-related prep as seasonally required.
- Uphold property appearance standards — including painting, patching, and decorating as needed.
- Communicate clearly with team members and guests while modeling professionalism and courtesy.

Who You are
- 3+ years experience in hotel, resort, or commercial maintenance.
- Strong working knowledge of building systems, tools, and basic repairs.
- Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and mechanical systems.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license preferred but will consider sponsoring certification for the right candidate.
- Comfortable using a computer to communicate, process invoices, and manage maintenance documents/logs
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- A self-starter who’s organized, solutions-focused, and calm under pressure.
- Someone who takes pride in a job well done and understands the impact of small details.
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Adaptable to changing priorities and weather conditions.
Requirements
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and kneeling throughout shift
- Able to respond quickly to emergencies and reach all areas of the hotel
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
