Join the team that keeps aircraft flying smart and safe.
At LMS we don’t just design aerospace fuel management systems, we engineer precision, reliability, and innovation into every drop. As Mechanical Engineer II, you’ll help us design the next generation of fuel system components for some of the world’s leading aerospace programs.
We’re looking for an experienced problem-solver who thrives on complexity, collaboration, and creativity, someone who can see a drawing not just as lines on a page, but as the blueprint for flight success.
Job Overview:
The Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for leading the design and creation of detailed drawings for aerospace fuel system components and assemblies, and serves as a technical leader for multidisciplinary teams, guiding the design, release, and qualification of aerospace fuel system components with minimal oversight.
What You’ll Do
- Engineer with purpose. Design, analyze, and improve mechanical components and assemblies for aerospace fuel systems.
- Lead by doing. Take ownership of projects from concept to qualification with minimal oversight.
- Collaborate across disciplines. Work together with electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers to bring your designs to life.
- Be our SolidWorks pro. Manage design data, maintain version control, and make magic happen with SolidWorks EPDM.
- Interface with the world. Engage directly with customers, suppliers, and test facilities to ensure our products exceed expectations.
- Own quality and precision. Apply GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5) and ensure our designs meet the highest aerospace benchmarks.
- Innovate continuously. Contribute to process improvements, new product development, and creative problem-solving.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (required).
- 10+ years of relevant experience (aerospace experience a big plus).
- SolidWorks mastery and a knack for turning complex requirements into clean, manufacturable designs.
- Deep understanding of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards.
- The ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical documentation.
- Bonus points for familiarity with embedded systems or firmware design.
