Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Senior Tax and Treasury Accountant reports directly to the Director of Tax & Treasury and serves as a key contributor to the firm’s overall tax compliance and treasury management functions. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, analytical ability, and business acumen to ensure the firm’s tax and treasury operations are efficient, accurate, and compliant. The ideal candidate will take ownership of complex tax and treasury processes, mentor junior team members, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Lead and review federal, state, and local tax compliance, including reviewing estimated income tax payments, tax returns, and supporting workpapers
Oversee state and local tax filings (sales/use, personal property, etc.) and ensure timely and accurate compliance
Assist with tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities to optimize the firm’s tax position
Drive automation and process improvements within tax and treasury workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Perform internal control reviews and oversee key general ledger reconciliations
Manage daily cash reporting, cash flow monitoring and bank compliance
Monitor and analyze foreign exchange rates and assess related exposure
Support treasury strategy, liquidity forecasting, and other ad hoc projects as needed
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners (e.g., auditors, banks, tax advisors) to support business objectives
Job Specifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
5-7 years of related work experience
Advanced Excel capabilities
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Exceptional analytical skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
Ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly

Target Hiring Range $113,000 - $143,000
Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWE provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
