Summary:

The Janitor is responsible for cleaning and maintaining specific areas of the assigned location.
The Janitor reports directly to the Program Director or designee.

This position is part of our Adult Mental Health (MH) Services Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program.

Wage Information:

Starting wage: $10.00 per hour

Job Description:

  • Completes routine cleaning assignments and any additional cleaning tasks assigned by supervisor or designee in indoor and/or outdoor areas.

  • Monitors, maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and requests needed supplies.

  • Reports any concerns or problems to supervisor.

  • Follows standard precautions when completing tasks.

  • Follows safety protocols and guidelines at all times.

  • May work with hazardous cleaning supplies or be exposed to unpleasant and noxious fumes and odors. May work under adverse weather conditions.

  • Knowledge of the standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment used to clean buildings and furniture.

  • Ability to learn the properties and use of various cleaning, sanitizing, stripping and waxing compounds.

  • Ability to learn, operate, and care for janitorial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing machines, etc.

  • Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces.

  • Ability to work effectively with others.

  • Ability to prioritize work assignments.

  • Ability to follow building and property security procedures.

  • Willing to learn and model the five principle other duties as assigned of trauma informed care; safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment.

Qualifications:

This position requires one of the following combinations of education and experience:

Must be at least 18 years of age and have the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
