Location: Hendersonville or Asheville location with remote hybrid opportunity

The role you’ll contribute:

The Surgical Scheduler is responsible for scheduling patients for surgery and preoperative testing as indicated. This position reviews patient medications and health histories to ensure accurate and up-to-date information. This role coordinates with medical staff to facilitate a smooth preoperative process. In addition, this position ensures all necessary documentation is completed and available for surgical procedures. Additionally, this role communicates with patients to provide instructions and answer any preoperative questions.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Schedules patients for surgery and completes facility paperwork.
• Obtains necessary scheduling, demographic, insurance, and clinical information to schedule, cancel, or reschedule events with minimal call transfers or callbacks.
• Schedules surgeries with physicians and physician office staff using the method designated by the facility.
• Calls designated departments with information for add-on cases if patients are not yet admitted to the hospital and prepares and sends reservations for each case scheduled within established timeframes.
• Responds to multiple inquiries from telephone, intercom, and direct communication regarding scheduling of surgery and the main operating room suite.

The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed:

• High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]
• 3+ years of working experience in a healthcare setting [Required]
