Staff Accountant

Summary:
Colony Tire Corporation is seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting Team. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial postings to the general ledger and the timely preparation of financial reports.
The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Controller and CFO, assisting with daily accounting functions and contributing to projects that enhance departmental efficiency.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor�s degree in Accounting, proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook), and strong 10-key skills.
This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills to effectively manage multiple priorities.
Hours: 8:00 a.m. � 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (this is not a remote position.)
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Provide accurate accounting support to senior accountants by completing key departmental responsibilities.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Record customer payments (cash, checks, credit cards) and maintain records of invoices, debits, and credits.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect the integrity of financial information.
- Participate in professional development and continuing education opportunities.
- Contribute to departmental goals and organizational success through timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
- Meet internal deadlines, perform general ledger analysis, and collaborate on special projects as needed.
- Develop and improve accounting and financial processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor�s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (required).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Proficiency in 10 Key Calculator.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior internship or work experience in accounting preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
