Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Position Title: Chief Financial Officer Industry: Hospitality
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will provide strategic financial leadership for a growing Real Estate Development/ Management platform operating within the hospitality industry. This position oversees all financial functions for the platform. The CFO will ensure sound financial operations, provide insights to improve property performance, and serve as a trusted partner to the CEO, COO, Board Members, hotel ownership, and brand partners.
This role requires a balance of strategic vision and hands-on management with responsibility for financial planning, accounting, forecasting, corporate liquidity, risk management, and ownership relations. The CFO will play a key role in supporting new hotel development, acquisitions, and management contract growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s growth goals, KPI’s and management contracts.
- Partner with executive leadership on long-term planning, acquisitions, development, and portfolio expansion.
- Provide financial modeling and return analysis for ownership groups and prospective deals.
Corporate & Property Finance Oversight
- Report on a quarterly basis to the board of directors regarding operating results as well as projections.
- Direct all aspects of corporate and property-level accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance standards associated with GAAP, USALI as well as various brands.
- Monitor property performance, providing proactive recommendations to drive GOP, EBITDA, and cash flow management.
- Manage capital structure of corporate platform to ensure liquidity covenants are maintained.
- Serve as the primary liaison with hotel ownership groups on financial matters.
Operations & Risk Management & Compliance
- Oversee treasury, working capital, cash flow management, and debt compliance.
- Ensure strong internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Lead financial due diligence and integration for new hotel openings or acquisitions.
- Partner with operations leadership to optimize labor costs, procurement, and vendor contracts.
- Focus on optimizing costs and improving the profitability of operations through financial analysis and strategic initiatives.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor the senior financial managers within each business unit.
- Implement systems, tools, and best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
- Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 10–15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally within the hospitality Industry.
- Proven experience managing property-level financials, brand reporting, and third-party ownership relations.
- ·Strong understanding of hotel P&Ls, forecasting, and industry metrics (RevPAR, GOP, flow-through, etc.).
- Proficiency in hotel financial/accounting systems (e.g., M3, HotStats, Opera, Micros, brand systems).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
