Under the general direction of the Director of Health Services, you will provide vital signs, activities of daily living, and give medications to students under the medication delegation program. You will also provide pertinent medical information to registered nurses.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations include the following:
Obtaining, measuring and recording vitals signs, according to the specific health needs of student
Identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse, advanced practice provider and or physician
Medication administration
Provide g-tube feeds
Provide basic care including ADL’s, lifts/transfers, body-charts, etc
Health Services clinic support (assist with trainings, vital signs, equipment support)
Liaison between cottages and program nurses
Collecting, verifying and recording required information according to established procedures and instructions
Adheres to health services policies and procedures in accordance with applicable regulatory agencies.
Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations;
Ability to write reports, correspondence and effectively present information;
Ability to respond to questions from groups, family or advocates.
Maintain current ProCPR
Able to Safety Care as necessary, including non violent crisis intervention.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or college degree
Nursing Assistant or equivalent certification
Currently in the last year of an accredited Nursing School
Current BLS CPR
Proficiency in Google suite
Proficient in electronic medical records and electronic medication administration
Experience working with children with developmental disabilities; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience, a plus
Experience in a Long term care facility or a facility delivering care to many patients at once
The following shared salary range is what Perkins reasonably expects, in good faith, to pay for the position. The applicable range could differ based on experience and qualification.
$19.04-$26.90
