Position Summary
The Manager of Medical Transportation Services and Equipment Management is responsible for operational, administrative functions and site specific Patient Transportation, Equipment Distribution, and Orthopedic Equipment Management Departments.

Responsibilities:Essential Functions
Responsible for daily operations of the Patient Transportation department, Ortho Equipment, and Equipment Distribution
departments. .
Maintains appropriate staffing levels by hiring and retaining qualified team members and providing them with training that
improves their performance and job knowledge.
Provides mentoring and career development opportunities to department’s leadership team.
Creates a climate of innovation, empowerment and trust for direct reports.
Manages employee and human resource related issues with integrity, honesty, compassion, impartiality, and responsiveness
Develops departmental goals and objectives aligned with corporate strategic goals.
Projects, develops, and manages budgets.
Develops, implements, and communicates departmental policies with regard to procedural standards, operational efficiencies, and safety.
Ensures compliance of contracts for Equipment Management.
Manages vendor support activities, maintenance agreements, and maintenance costs in areas of responsibility.
Collaborates with other departments and directs resources to ensure transportation and equipment logistical support to meet
various demands throughout the facility.
Monitors customer satisfaction and facilitates resolution of customer issues, requests, questions, and concerns. Works with Risk
Management on issues concerning guest dissatisfaction, safety issues, and/or incident reports.
Establishes and maintains positive and professional relationships with corporate and hospital department leadership as well as vendor executive leadership.
Responsible for future growth and management of related issues for Equipment Management and Transportation to include new services, management of contracted services, interdepartmental concerns, and the evaluation of new technology and equipment.
Responsible for departmental compliance with CMS, AHCA, and Joint Commission guidelines.
Manages various human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
Participates in Orlando Health committees, administrative staff meetings, and task force groups.
Understands and complies with Safety and Infection Control practices within areas of responsibility to include Back Safety,
Respiratory compliance and lifting and transfer techniques.
Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to others who may have
limited knowledge of the subject matter.
Possess the ability to communicate effectively orally and written to subordinates and all levels of management.
Strong interpersonal skills with orientation toward team approach.
Knowledge of all federal, state, and local codes as applicable.
Computer literate and knowledge in EPSi, HBI, Microsoft Office, Transport Tracking, Bed Tracking, SRS II, Sunrise, Affinity, Cypress Reports, and other Orlando Health systems (manager’s toolbox, position allocation, KRONOS, People soft, etc.).
Enhances professional growth and development of staff through participation in education programs, current literature and
seminars.
Maintains communication with administration and other hospital staff regarding activities and needs relating to customer concerns and issues.
Education/Training
Bachelor’s degree.
Licensure/Certification
None.
Experience
Two (2) years of leadership experience.
