JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership- Backup for team leadership, serving as decision maker in absence of manager. Serves as mentor/trainer for new staff. Demonstrates proficiency at pulling reports. Documents processes and updates guidelines. Serves as team representative for departmental initiatives. Involved in preparation for and execution of campaign planning, including development of system for prospect identification and verification and for construction of campaign donor pyramids for specific projects.

  • Project Management- Supports high priority projects identified by leaders of the institution, creating a plan of action and overseeing research efforts to completion. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of domestic and international business environments and corporate management structures. Undertakes international research projects, including country and economic profiles, adjusting for differences s in language, naming conventions, customs and currency.

  • Prospecting- Identifies potential prospects from a variety of sources to ensure team has sufficient prospects to meet fundraising goals. Selects potential prospect names for presentation after conducting research and rating. Adds high capacity/high interest individuals to database for cultivation. Identifies corporations and foundations with interest in funding medical or children's issues. Notifies assigned managers of updates to donor files.

  • Prospect Management- Creates, refines, and manages an efficient and effective data-driven prospect management system, developing solutions in cooperative fashion with fundraising leaders. Establishes and monitors a moves management system based upon targeted research that drives mutually agreed upon cultivation and solicitation strategies for donors and prospects. Actively participates in monthly and quarterly prospect strategy sessions. Partners with colleagues in prospect research to manage the assignment of newly-qualified prospects based on workflows. Collaborates on the building and scheduling of reports to be used in prospect management.

  • Policies & Practices- Develops, maintains, regularly reviews, and updates prospect management policies and procedures.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in related field. May require clinical license, certification or training

  • 2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of CRM/database management (e.g., Raiser's Edge)

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under deadlines

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools
