THE WORK
This experienced professional level mid-career position that offers a tremendous learning experience for a self-motivated candidate to impact the health and safety at one of the largest facilities in the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) organization. The candidate will tackle challenging health and safety risks in a number of different processes and work environments. This position offers the candidate opportunities for growth both personally and professionally as we interact and work together with other departments and groups to reduce the overall risk to the site and improve health and safety.
This position is located at the RMS facility in Owego, NY. The 1.6 million square foot facility supports a number of different operations and processes including Printed Wiring Board Manufacturing, Electrical Assembly Manufacturing, Helicopter and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Flight Operations, CNC and Manual Machining/Painting/Assembly, Additive/3D printing, High Energy Laser Testing, Vertical Launch Systems, Wastewater Treatment, and Engineering Labs. The Owego facility has been in OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) as a STAR worksite for 30 years. The successful candidate will be expected to pick up a variety of responsibilities related to the site industrial hygiene program, such as:
• Site exposure assessments.
• Employee air and noise sampling.
• PPE evaluation and assessment
• Respirator Protection Program
• Ventilation system reviews
• Asbestos Management
• Hearing Conservation Program
• Laser and Radiation Safety
• Confined Space Entry
• Hazmat response team member

Basic Qualifications
Experienced and knowledge of OSHA standards
