Position Summary:
The Payroll Associate is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness in maintaining weekly payroll changes while providing superior customer service in a professional and confidential manner. Primary responsibilities will include the support of day-to-day functions of the Payroll Department and responding to inquiries from employees and managers. The Payroll Associate must adhere to tight deadlines and requires an exceptional ability for time management and organization. This position reports directly to the Payroll Manager.
I. Position Responsibilities: Essential
- Manage weekly payroll activities for 1400 employees – hourly and salary
- Processing New Hires and Terminations
- Enters all payroll changes
- Responsible for reviewing time and entering adjustments as needed in Attendance system
- Run Attendance On Demand export/ import to create hours file and reports
- Generate timecard hours reports and processing weekly payroll transmission including submitting the wire transfer
- Processing Child Support Withholdings/Garnishments/Wage Audits
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- Processing UKG Reports including Business Intelligence
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Must be able to problem-solve to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding all payroll matters
- Effective communication skills to interact with employees and other departments regarding payroll matters
- Ability to meet weekly payroll deadlines and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Generate reports requested by other departments in the company
- Reviews and verifies employee information; direct deposit set up
- Responds to employee inquiries
- Back up for other payroll employees
- Communicate with HR, GM and ROM regarding questions for AOD and UKG changes
- Perform other duties assigned by the manager
- The position will be physically located in the Atlanta office; working remotely outside of Company Directed Guidelines is not permitted. Currently, the in-office work model is a hybrid with 2 days remote/3 days in the office.
II. Essential Skills/Credentials/Experience/Education
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum 2 years UKG Software Experience required.
- Strong knowledge of Child Support Withholdings/Garnishments/Wage Audits and processing
- Proficient Microsoft Office and Excel skills required
- Minimum 4 years’ multi-state payroll experience
- Superior listening, writing, and verbal communication skills required.
- Able to effectively and comfortably communicate with all levels employees both client facing and internal.
- Demonstrates strong organizational/time management skills, a team-player who can work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, flexibility, and problem solving skills.
III. Mental and Physical Demands
Work Environment:
- Typical office environment – moderate noise level.
Physical Demands:
- Indoor work with hard and carpeted surfaces.
- Sitting for eight (8) hour shifts.
- This position is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, and kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Extensive use of hands and fingers for manipulation of keyboard, answering phone calls (100% of the time).
- Use of computer terminal, which requires extensive eye contact with a video display terminal.
