We’re looking for a Storage Lead who will help ensure our product quality, optimize storage performance, and contribute to a culture of trust and continuous improvement.
Position Summary
The Storage Lead supports the Storage Manager in leading chip storage and chip plant operations. This role ensures that potatoes meet customer and USDA quality standards through data-driven decision-making, teamwork, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with seed and storage operations including seed evaluation, piling, cutting schedules, and delivery coordination.
- Collect and report on seed and harvest quality data (fry tests, sugar tests, bruise samples, etc.).
- Support the Storage Quality Management System (QMS) through SOP implementation and data monitoring.
- Help oversee storage and Chip Lab processes to ensure grade, size, weight, color, and condition meet requirements.
- Coordinate shipping schedules and verify accuracy of data between customer orders, shipping records, and invoicing (3-way match).
- Audit data, track carrier ETAs, and communicate logistics updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and update SOPs for storage, cutting, and lab operations to drive efficiency and compliance.
- Provide daily shipping reports and assist with customer inquiries or issue resolution.
- Support team productivity through grading, scooping, and other operational or seasonal tasks.
- Collaborate with quality, agronomy, and operations teams to identify and implement continuous improvements.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture, Plant Science, Ag Business, or related field preferred.
- Experience in crop production, storage operations, or food manufacturing preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead by example and foster teamwork.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management systems.
