THE JOB:
The VP Finance reports to and partners with the General Manager to set the financial policy and direction for the property. Position is an active participant in, and driver of, the organization's overall strategy. Ensures all activities performed within the department are in accordance with MGM's business objectives, budget guidelines, established safety standards, and company policies, practices and procedures.
Please note: There are two positions available across our luxury resort properties.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Responsible for the financial management of the property, including financial analysis and projections, capital and operating budgetary planning, productivity, revenue/expense trends analysis, financial record keeping and reporting
Accountable for the operational and gaming regulation compliance function in accordance with applicable jurisdiction gaming agencies/commissions and other governing agencies
Oversees the risk management liability exposure for the property and monitors/governs financial expenditures
Develops and implements a strategic plan/long range plan, including capital deployment, labor management, drives continuous improvement and vision for the property consistent with the Company’s and property’s vision/mission and serves as a key member of the property’s Executive Committee
Serves as both a financial and operational resource to the General Manager and operational division heads relative to the financial success and viability of the property
Provides executive oversight and direction for the Finance Division, to include Financial Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Cage, Purchasing, Workforce Planning, Warehouse/Receiving, Risk Management, and Internal Controls & Fraud Detection
Participates in the identification and development of business partnerships and relationships which may be beneficial to the long-term growth and success of the property
Instrumental in fostering a work environment that promotes collaboration, performance, feedback, and overall sense of employee community
Provides leadership in the development and monitoring of fiscal budgets and operational strategies to produce both short term and long-term profitability
Works closely with department management to establish sound operational business practices, and methods to ensure all projects and assignments produce quality results, remain within budget, and meet targeted deadlines
Directs the research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure competitive position in an ever-changing hospitality/gaming environment
Maintains effective communication with peers and subordinates
Establishes parameters that empower managers/supervisors with the authority to effectively accomplish the duties of their assigned positions
Ensures compliance with all legal and company regulations and policies
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
Has 3–6+ years of prior relevant experience in finance or in a financial leadership capacity.
They demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills, the ability to interpret financial data, and proficiency in developing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
The candidate has a proven track record of managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and providing strategic recommendations to drive business performance.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities are essential to effectively partner with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making.
