Pool Manager

Department: Food & Beverage

Position Summary

The Pool Manager oversees daily operations at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach pool, the heart of our social scene and the epicenter of our anything-but-standard experience. This role ensures seamless service, a vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere, and a consistent reflection of The Standard’s brand values: hospitality, creativity, and community.

The Pool Manager leads and supports the pool team servers, attendants, and bartenders, to create unforgettable guest moments while maintaining operational excellence, compliance, and profitability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily operations of the pool area, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and adherence to service standards.

  • Maintain strong presence on the floor, leading by example and ensuring smooth coordination between service, bar, and culinary teams.

  • Monitor guest flow / seating to optimize guest satisfaction and revenue.

  • Partner with the F&B Director and Executive Chef to maintain menu quality, efficiency, and service consistency.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.

  • Manage and monitor inventory, ordering, and cost controls for all pool F&B operations.

  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, fostering a positive, supportive, and “Standard” culture.

  • Ensure all team members receive proper onboarding and continuous training in service standards, safety, and product knowledge.

  • Handle scheduling, attendance, and performance reviews; address performance or conduct issues promptly and fairly.

  • Be the face of the pool, engage with guests, build relationships, and ensure every visit feels personalized and memorable.

  • Resolve guest concerns promptly with empathy and creative problem-solving.

  • Anticipate guest needs and continuously look for ways to enhance the pool experience.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a management or supervisory role within hospitality, preferably in pool, resort, or high-volume F&B environments.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Passion for hospitality, service excellence, and team development.

  • Proficiency with POS and scheduling systems (e.g., Micros, SevenRooms, Paycom).

  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Valid Food Handler and Responsible Vendor (Alcohol) certifications preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, reach, and perform light physical tasks as required.

  • Comfortable working in outdoor environments including heat, sun exposure, and humidity.
