Job Description
Title: Crumb Plant Operator
Rate of Pay: $30.16 (Start 80%Less - New Hire Progression)
Schedule: 6PM - 6:30AM (Continuous Schedule 4 On - 3 Off Rotating)
We’re looking for a motivated and results-driven Crumb Plant Operator to join the Bakery team at Kraft Heinz. In this role you will own daily operation and ownership of Scale, Slicer, Grinder, and Crumb Handler area equipment and tools, partner with cross-functional teams to ensure food safety and highest product quality, and deliver continuous improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Create a safe working environment and ensure all safety procedures are followed
• Create the highest quality products in accordance to the standards
• Daily operation and ownership of Scale, Slicer, Grinder, and Crumb Handler area equipment and tools
• Ensure Scale, Slicer, Grinder, and Crumb Handler functions are being completed properly
• Ensure totes are labeled with correct purpose and items
• Ensure product and material are in dividers and staged correctly
• Monitor production through visual inspection and periodic sampling
• Inspect/transport totes in a safe, orderly manner, and not overfilled
• Transport Grinder bags to the Shake N' Bake staging area
• Complete proper procedure for rework when rework is required
• Perform all Quality checks to standard and report any non-conforming results
• Drive Continuous Improvement of Systems, Processes and Results
• Be proactive in safety, quality, and efficiency in the Bakery and coordinate with Management
• Accountable for the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) standards as outlined in the plant’s QRMP accountability document, including the implementation, improvement and ongoing maintenance of these policies
• Other duties as assigned
Knowledge / Skills
• Understands Facility Guidelines as they pertain to Safety, Quality, and GMPs
• Ability to lead and direct others
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
• Ability to troubleshoot and communicate in a technical manner
• Strong communication skills – verbal and written
• Capable of speaking in front of groups
• Ability to interpret and analyze data to assist and/or facilitate continuous improvement plans
• Ability to teach/train
• Demonstrate an understanding of the process and its impact to the business
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification preferred
Preferred Qualifications
• Certification in food safety/HACCP or other relevant industry certifications
• Experience in Bakery or CPG manufacturing environments
• Experience with continuous improvement tools (e.g., Lean, 5S, Kaizen)
