CONSULTANTS IN GASTROENTEROLOGY
JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Lead Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors and physicians.
 - Ability to make logical decisions and solve problems.
 - Communicate clearly and proficiently.
 - Ability to perform any nursing duty asked.
 - Have extensive knowledge of nursing techniques
 - Pass security check.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
 - Active license within the state of South Carolina.
 - BLS/ACLS certification.
 - Board certified by NBCRNA to practice Nurse Anesthesia.
 - Active licensure in state of South Carolina LLR Board as an APRN.
 - Evidence of leadership qualities.
 - Strong ethical and moral character references.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Duties
 
Duties include, but not limited to the following:
- Complete and document a timely and accurate initial consultation and/or history and physical as is generally accepted in the medical community to include an initial assessment and plan within the provider’s scope of knowledge and training.
 - Collect pertinent clinical and laboratory data and other records as clinically indicated.
 - Complete appropriate orders.
 - Communicate with patient, family and other health care professionals when appropriate.
 - Assists the physician in providing pre-procedure, procedure and post-procedure care to the patient.
 - Implements appropriate nurse anesthesia activities to provide safe and individualized anesthesia care.
 - Addresses patient needs during admission to the endoscopy room, with attention to requirements specific to the outpatient setting.
 - Identifies the patient and correct procedure according to policy and procedure and communicates with all members of the medical team.
 - Perform any other reasonable task assigned by physician or management.
 - Administers medication based on criteria specific to the individual patient, including but not limited the following; patient age, physical status, concurrent medications being taken, assessment of vital signs, pre-procedure, intra-op and post-procedure.
 - Provides comfort, reassurance to patient and maintains patient privacy and dignity.
 - Explains procedure, anesthesia care to be given to patient.
 - Monitors patient condition and maintains accurate documentation pre-procedure, during procedure and post-procedure.
 - Provides continuity of patient care by communicating with other perioperative care personnel and documents records accordingly.
 - Performs with competence in emergency situations

 - It is expected that clinical duties are to be performed between 6:30am and 3:00pm and any change from this schedule shall be directed to the Administrator.
 - Participate as needed in scheduled meetings to address concerns and/or updates to the Lead CRNA with aspects of anesthesia care, anesthesia protocols, and anesthesia staffing of facilities.

Qualifications
