- Perform all aspects of payroll processing for exempt and non-exempt employees through HDC’s Human Capital Management (HCM) platform Ceridian Dayforce.
- Use and embrace the full range of capabilities in Ceridian Dayforce, a comprehensive, modern cloud HCM platform for managing the entire employee lifecycle.
- Continuously identify ways to improve payroll and timekeeping processes to enhance HDC staff’s experience.
- Perform analytical reviews of biweekly, quarterly and annual payroll information and reports to ensure accuracy.
- Act as liaison to external HDC departments for bi-weekly, year-end, and general payroll reporting.
- Provide hands-on support for all payroll matters by working closely with HDC’s Accounting and Cash Management teams.
- Support the VP in the management of the third-party platform for FSA administration.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for all payroll processing procedures including taxation (both multi-state and localities).
- Handle and monitor employee payroll, leave and benefit inquiries and ensure that all inquiries are promptly and appropriately resolved.
- Lead Bi-Weekly Payroll Transaction meetings with senior staff.
- Perform other duties and special projects as requested by management.
- Support all payroll related aspects of HDC’s benefit programs including but not limited to health benefits, life insurance, pre-tax benefits programs and retirement savings plans (NYCERS and 403B).
- Enter employee benefits related transactions into the appropriate platforms and databases for NYSHIP/group health, dental and vision.
- Act as liaison between HDC and NYCERS.
- Maintain electronic and hard copy HR filing systems.
- Ensure HR/benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deductions and leave accruals.
- Assist employees with basic health, dental, vision, life and other related benefit claims and eligibility issues referring issues to the CHRO and VP’s as appropriate.
- Bring administrative problems with the carriers to the attention of the CHRO and/or VP, Compensation, Payroll and Benefits.
- Ensure compliance with all payroll/benefit laws and regulations.
- Assist the VP in the annual open enrollment.
- Acts as back-up to the Jr. HR Generalist in benefit system maintenance.
- Assist the VP in timely communications, document preparation and setting up of meetings to ensure a smooth exit process for those employees separating from the corporation.
- Manage the payroll aspects of HDC employees’ leaves and the policies that interact with them. Types of leave include parental leave, medical leave, family leave, disability leave, or any other leave.
- Assist with employee inquiries related to leave processing
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws.
- Assist with leave management processes.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related field
- 3+ years-experience with Ceridian Dayforce including the Reporting Module
- Knowledge of employee health benefits, pre-tax programs, life insurance and short-term and long-term disability programs
- Direct experience with New York City Employees Retirement System (NYCERS) and 403B administration
- Experience with governmental health benefit programs such as the New York State Health Insurance Program (NYSHIP)
