Burke is growing rapidly and we’re looking for an organized, communicative, team-focused Quality Engineering Intern to join our team! The Quality Engineering Intern will support the Quality team in ensuring that playground products meet company and customer standards for safety, performance, and appearance. This position provides direct experience in manufacturing quality processes, inspection techniques, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects within a production environment

The Role


Prepares and updates Process Instructions, Forms, and Procedures to support Manufacturing, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering Team:

  • Creating/editing process flows using Visio as directed by Manufacturing Engineering and Quality
  • Creating/editing process procedures and instructions using Word as directed by Supervisors, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality
  • Creating/editing Hazard Assessments and Lockout Tagout instructions as directed by Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Manager.
  • Creating/editing audit forms and methods using Word or other applications

Creating, updating, or inspecting using basic Romer Arm Programs:

  • Using Polyworks and/or V-Tube create/edit programs based on drawings and CAD models to support Manufacturing and New Product or Revision inspections under the direction of Quality or Manufacturing Engineering

Inspection:

  • Inspect incoming supplied products according to sampling plans and drawing requirements.
  • Inspect new products and production products to support the product development cycle.
  • Assist in containment isolation and inspection of suspect products.

Communicates directly with Internal Customers by

  • Being articulate & friendly.
  • Using proper phone etiquette and Teams, and e-mail communication to resolve issues and answer questions that arise regarding the specifications and requests for support.

Contributes to Team Effort by

  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications That Move Us!

  • Actively pursuing Associate's, or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from college or technical school in a related field; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have a portfolio to highlight relevant work or educational experience.
  • Must have knowledge of CAD software and modeling.
  • Must have a functional understanding of Microsoft Office software.
  • High Math Skills – Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and group situations with managers, suppliers, other employees, and the public.
  • Organized, meticulous, collaborator, strong verbal, and written communication skills.
