Who We're Looking For: 

We are looking for someone who can lead the claims team in recovering tort damages from at fault parties in a way that maximizes recovery ratios while providing professional courteous service to everyone their group contacts.

On A Typical Day You'll 

• Manage Claim inventories, conduct settlement reviews, and coach team members appropriately 
• Evaluate recovery and create and implement ways to improve them 
• Liaison contact with clients, providing reports and data 
• Partner with quality assurance and training and participate in call monitoring for continuous improvement 
• Attend client meetings as needed 
• Complete timecard approvals for the team and other administrative tasks as assigned

The Big Picture 

Here’s a few key competencies we’re looking to see in this position: 

• Underground facility claim handling experience in a centralized environment; some lead experience a plus
• A solid understanding of pre-dig laws in various states
• Ability to forecast and plan for claim volume, turnover and changing needs of the business.
• Ability to proactively propose ways to improve recovery ratios and deal with any declines in ratios.
• Ability to read, interpret and damage reports and accident diagrams.
• Microsoft Office suite proficient; proficient to expert level knowledge of Excel.
• Excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation skills are required.
• Able to speak clearly on the phone to clients of the company
• Must be able to interface with at fault parties and clients in a clear, articulate manner
• Must have excellent negotiation skills.
• Commitment to ethical, professional conduct
• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally
• Ability to embrace change/flexibility
• Insurance Adjuster License (must obtain license within 4 months of moving into position)
• Underground excavation, construction or building experience
• Experience reading and explaining underground facility diagrams
• Leading a team in working on underground facility damage claims

Education/Experience:

• 2 – 4 years comparable supervisory/management experience
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
