Position: Human Resources Manager. Salary: $58,080 Exempt/Full time – Negotiable. Location: Gaming Division. Reports to: Director of Gaming Human Resources
Responsibilities:
- Oversee FMLA and other leave programs, ensuring compliance with regulations. Serve as the main contact for leave-related inquiries and maintain accurate leave records and reports.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and recommend actions. Provide guidance on performance and behavior management.
- Supervise HR team, oversee daily operations, and manage recruitment, onboarding, and professional development. Ensure compliance with EEO laws and all employment regulations.
- Develop and implement leave management policies, stay updated on employment laws, and adjust policies as needed. Prepare documentation and reports for audits and compliance.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills, address training needs, and support career development.
- Oversee compensation, handle salary reviews, and manage benefits with external and internal vendors to ensure competitive offerings.
- Promote a positive workplace culture, implement engagement initiatives, and manage HR documentation with confidentiality.
- Handle inquiries from internal departments and external agencies, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support business needs and objectives.
Qualifications & Education:
- Associate’s degree in HR, Psychology, Business Administration, or Management required; bachelor’s degree preferred; Master’s or HR certification (e.g., SHRM, PHR, SPHR) highly desirable.
- Minimum 2 years of progressive HR experience, preferred in a fast-paced environment; at least 2 years of managerial experience preferred. Experience in casino gaming or highly regulated environments is a plus.
- Proficiency in employee relations, conflict resolution, employment laws, and HR best practices including FMLA and 401(k). Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficient in UKG HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong ethics, integrity, and confidentiality. Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and casino industry regulations preferred. Must obtain a Mohican Nation Gaming License, pass a Criminal Investigation Background Check, and complete pre-employment drug and health screenings.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Willingness to attend all required training sessions and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work Conditions:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands.
- Occasional lifting and moving of up to twenty (20) pounds.
- Work in an office and casino setting with occasional exposure to high level casino noise.
- Evening and weekend work may be required and as needed.
- Travel may be necessary for training and meetings.
- Maintaining excellent personal hygiene is required.
