Overview
The Cape Cod Collaborative is an educational organization providing a full range of instructional and support services to the students, parents and public school staff of our 19 member districts, whose needs are best addressed through a multi-district effort. Our student services include: alternative education programs for low incident, special needs populations; programs for the multi-handicapped; therapy and services for students requiring specialized support; and a full range of transportation services for both the special needs and general education population. Job Discription
The Sustitute Registered Nurse plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellness of students and staff, covering for the regular school nurse  at the Waypoint Academy/STAR Program as needed on a substitute basis.  This position requires a compassionate, organized, and proactive professional who can manage daily health needs, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with educational and clinical teams to promote a safe and healthy school environment.
Performance Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Provide direct nursing care to students, including medication administration, first aid, and chronic condition management.
 - Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
 - Monitor student health status and communicate with families, staff, and outside providers as needed.
 - Collaborate with the therapeutic and educational teams to support students' IEP health-related goals.
 - Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts as part of the school's behavioral support team.
 - Ensure compliance with immunization and health screening requirements.
 - Develop and implement health care plans for students with medical needs.
 - Provide health education and wellness promotion to students and staff.
 - Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards of practice.
 
Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts RN license required.
 - Experience working with children and adolescents in educational or therapeutic settings preferred.
 - Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
 - Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
 - CPR and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain).
 - Knowledge of behavioral health and trauma-informed care preferred.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
