The Director of Brand Management plays a key role in amplifying, supporting, and nurturing the positive growth of the High Point University (HPU) brand, both internally and externally. This position serves as the primary liaison between the Office of Communication and all university departments to ensure brand consistency, uphold messaging and visual standards, and reinforce the culture and reputation of HPU. They also enforce the university’s brand standards, oversee licensing and usage of university marks, manage campus branding installations, and coordinate branded gifting initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communication, or related field required

Experience and Training

  • This is a position for an enthusiastic person who desires a career in Marketing and Branding.
  • Knowledge of public relations/marketing/communications/social media helpful

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • Strong understanding of purchasing processes and vendor negotiation.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage the installation of campus graphics and signage.
  • Skilled in managing projects that span multiple departments and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Canva, with basic working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple projects effectively.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Serves as project manager for university-wide branding and signage installations.
  • Maintains and enforces the HPU Brand Standards Guide.
  • Plans and coordinates university gift items for events in partnership with the Events Team and the Office of Communication.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between the Office of Communication and other university departments to ensure brand consistency and uphold HPU’s reputation.
  • Manages the inventory of branded materials and university gifts.
  • Oversees proper use of HPU wordmarks and logos through the university’s licensing agency.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Senior Vice President for Communications or the Assistant Vice President for Creative Projects.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Manage budgets for branding and special projects.
  • Assists with university purchasing and vendor contract negotiations.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with local businesses and university partners.
  • Represents High Point University both on campus and within the community.
