Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Production Technician plays a key role in supporting the company’s manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for executing a variety of tasks, including assembly, painting, operating machinery, and quality inspections, to ensure production goals are met with precision and efficiency. Your focus will be on maintaining high-quality standards while contributing to a safe, organized, and collaborative work environment.
This role is based at our Abbotsford location and is a fully onsite position.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Read and accurately follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), work orders, and technical drawings to understand production requirements.
· Prepare surfaces and apply paint to components such as manifolds and transmissions, ensuring uniform coverage and adherence to quality standards.
· Safely operate machines, including heat sealers, paper machines, and foam machines, while maintaining productivity and precision.
· Assemble small and large products according to specifications, ensuring each item meets structural and functional requirements.
· Package finished products securely for shipping, verifying all components are included and properly protected.
· Conduct detailed inspections of products and components to ensure they meet quality standards, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
· Work closely with senior personnel and supervisors to ensure alignment with production goals and address any challenges in real time.
· Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe by adhering to housekeeping standards and safety protocols.
· Actively participate in initiatives to improve workflows, processes, and overall efficiency within the production environment.
· Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor to support overall team success.
Working Conditions
· Manufacturing facility environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and physical tasks.
· Requires wearing personal protective equipment, including steel-toe boots, as per safety guidelines.
· Regularly involves lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
· Previous experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is an asset.
· Familiarity with painting processes using paint gun and techniques, particularly for manifolds and transmissions, is highly desirable.
· Ability to effectively use hand tools and follow technical instructions and specifications.
· Strong ability to maintain high-quality standards and proactively resolve discrepancies.
· Capability to work collaboratively within a team environment or independently, as needed.
· Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
