Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.

Purpose/Objective:  

 

The VP, CMO develops new business and sells cash management services and solutions to existing and new, larger middle market complex commercial, small business and municipal customers. In addition, the VP, CMO will act as Relationship Manager for ALL municipal clients within the assigned territory. The VP, CMO will be the local/regional officer for all municipal opportunities. Meets, consults, assesses needs and makes recommendation for effective sales strategies and services. Meets and presents proposals in person to executives, owners or board of directors. Is responsible for upselling cash management to existing clients and referring cash management clients to other business lines within the Bank. The VP, CMO will also identify direct leads and responds to RFPs. 

 

The VP, CMO works closely with the commercial lending team to solidify existing relationships and obtain new ones.  Supports the small business and branch staff as well. Recommends services and provides quality customer service to ensure banking needs are met and relationships are being developed and solidified. The VP, CMO will work closely with the commercial, small business and branch teams to ensure that cash management is understood, sold and that they are made aware of any changes in product, pricing or of any new initiatives.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Identifies and develops new business opportunities within assigned markets to grow the department and meet revenue objectives. Prepares and presents written cash management proposals to larger corporate customers and prospects. The CMO may present in person to boards or heads of companies. The CMO cross sells to other business lines and work closely with commercial lending staff.
  • Manage the municipal deposit portfolio within assigned territory. This includes working toward the Bank’s desired deposit mix of municipal account products: Municipal Money Markets, Savings, CDs, NOW Checking and Checking, attending board meetings (if necessary), growing profitable deposits when the Bank looks to increase these deposits, lowering rates when the Bank needs to wind down these deposits and overall relationship management to include bringing in the appropriate business partner when applicable.
  • Supports and actively calls on new and existing business that the commercial lenders, relationship managers and branches identify and refer. In many cases, joint calls are arranged. Supports commercial lenders, relationship managers and branch officers in all phases of the cross-sale referral program.
  • Responsible for smooth implementation and customer retention. Annual reviews are performed on top tier clients. Also services the various daily cash management needs of the commercial customers and provides error resolutions to account problems, inquires and requests.  
  • Supports Cash Management Manager in the achievement of short and long-term business strategies objectives and goals, and works as SME for merchant and payroll services.
  • Travel required to meet with clients within specified territory 35% of the time and within bank footprint for business line meetings.
  • Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one’s duties.

 

Education:

 

  • BA degree in business administration preferred or equivalent work experience.

 

Experience:

 

  • 10+ years cash management sales experience
  • 5+ years sales experience selling bank products with demonstrated results
