Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Painter is to prepare, and paint assigned areas and assist with general repair and maintenance of facility structures and building systems.

Essential Job Functions:

Prepare and paints in assigned areas.

• Prepare assigned areas properly before painting.
• Use appropriate painting techniques and produce a high quality of work.

Repair structures and building systems.

• Complete work orders and perform other duties as requested.
• Assist maintenance personnel in maintaining structures and building systems in a satisfactory condition.

Maintain supplies and equipment needed to perform daily maintenance tasks.

• Maintain equipment and work areas in a safe, clean, and attractive manner.
• Use drop cloths when necessary to avoid getting paint on floor or furniture.
• Clean all painting equipment and supplies using appropriate chemicals and put them away.
• Inform supervisor of areas needing attention or repair and of need equipment and supplies.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must be at least eighteen [18] years of age
• Must have prior experience with preparing and painting a variety of surfaces and finishes

Physical Requirements:

Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
