Role

We are seeking a Lecturer of A Level Computer Science  and AAQ Computing to join our team at Sefton Sixth Form College. You will deliver high-quality teaching and assessment to Level 3 learners, helping them achieve outstanding outcomes and progress to their chosen destinations.

You’ll teach both legacy A Level Computer Science and the new AAQ Cambridge Advanced National qualification in Computing. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to curriculum innovation and make a real impact in students’ lives.

This role is based at Sefton Sixth Form College, a dedicated sixth form campus in Litherland that offers a vibrant and inclusive learning environment for students aged 16–18. The college is part of Hugh Baird College and is committed to academic excellence, personal development, and preparing students for their next steps, whether that’s university, apprenticeships, or employment. You’ll be working alongside passionate educators in a setting that values creativity, collaboration, and student success.

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons aligned with our Teaching, Learning & Assessment (TLA) principles.
  • Provide clear and constructive feedback to support learner progress.

  • Support students’ pastoral needs and promote wellbeing.
  • Participate in curriculum development and enhancement activities.
  • Engage in CPD and build external partnerships to enrich teaching.

Criteria

  • Degree in a science/health-related subject with biological content.
  • PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge and assessment expertise.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners.
  • High expectations of self and others.
  • Committed to integrity, innovation, and collaboration.
