The position coordinates a range of activities to include external audit counts of stores, capital projects related to cameras, DVRs, safes, and other security equipment, and supports new store development by helping design and implement Asset Protection tools and solutions across the network. The specialist will work with external audit vendors to schedule, monitor, and evaluate physical inventory counts, will from time to time conduct investigations into company losses and integrity-related issues and contributes to the creation and delivery of field-facing training programs to educate managers on asset protection and safety practices.
Additionally, the role builds expertise in physical inventory processes, reconciles and analyzes inventory issues, and collaborates with field and Home Office partners to improve procedures, manage inventory controls, and drive process improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work directly with the CCTV integrator and vendor to design, upgrade, and troubleshoot the CCTV and exception-based reporting systems.
Coordinate with Technical Services on upgrades, system interruptions, and network issues.
Provide guidance to multiple departments on setup and use of CCTV systems.
Prepare and deliver exception reports highlighting inventory or cash loss, fraudulent behavior, irregular activity, and trends associated with shrink and inventory management.
Partner with other departments to identify and help implement shrink-reduction and safety improvements.
Coordinate capital projects related to site selection, purchase orders, vendor scheduling, and site communication for security equipment.
Identify internal control issues and recommend or implement processes to mitigate risks related to physical inventory processes.
Assist in recovering company losses and pursuing restitution.
Perform special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
(Preferred) BA/BS in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline; plus a minimum of 3 years of related experience, including 2–3 years in retail loss prevention, asset protection, or safety. Degree can be substituted for practical role experience.
