Position Summary
This part-time position (30 to 60 hours per month) is responsible for taking daily reservoir levels and discharge readings at the Rest Lake Reservoir Dam located in Manitowish Waters, WI and reporting those to Hydro Management. The dam attendant is responsible for making changes in dam discharge and reservoir levels to maintain compliance with the State of Wisconsin operating order. The dam attendant makes regular inspections of the dam structures and reports anomalies to Hydro Management. An awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is required at all times.
Essential Responsibilities:
Read staff gage.
Make discharge adjustments as needed to maintain compliance with state operating order.
File daily and weekly reports.
Clean and maintain company facilities as necessary (i.e., snow).
Perform regular inspections of dam structures.
Minimum Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Live in close proximity to reservoir dam. Must be able to respond within 30 minutes to site.
Be able to report to dam one hour per day, seven days per week.
Ability to work in cold or inclement weather.
