Job Summary:
Plays a pivotal role in driving process optimization, ensuring quality standards, and mentoring junior programmers to support our mission of delivering medical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for complex medical device components using CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam).
- Ability to lead or mentor a team of CNC programmers, providing technical guidance, training, and support.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop machining strategies for new product development and existing projects.
- Perform advanced CNC machine setup, including tooling selection, fixture design, and cutting parameter optimization.
- Conduct feasibility studies and process validations to ensure manufacturing capabilities meet design requirements and quality standards.
- Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste in CNC machining operations.
- Troubleshoot complex machining issues and implement corrective actions to maintain production schedules and quality targets.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks using precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and surface finishes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout the CNC programming and machining processes.
Qualifications:
- Technical diploma in Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred or equivalent experience. Typically with a minimum of 10 years experience.
- Proven track record of CNC programming experience, including expertise in multi-axis machining, complex geometries, and advanced toolpath strategies.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code) required for CNC machining.
- Ability to mentor and develop junior programmers.
- In-depth knowledge of materials commonly used in medical device manufacturing (e.g., stainless steel, titanium, plastics).
- Experience with executing IQ, OQ, and PQ, design of experiments (DOE), and statistical analysis is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and cross-functional teamwork.
