What You’ll Do:

This position will consist of management of plant operations. Plant operations include batching, order taking, dispatch, facilities management, Contractor Supply Store and supervision of the following: ready-mix drivers, maintenance employees and yard personnel.  The position will also involve working with dispatch and customers to provide superior product and customer service.  This position reports to the Regional Manager, not excluding those departmental managers in which this position is involved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production of ready-mix concrete within specification in a timely manner.
  • Communication with dispatch and customers with regards to shipping, orders and changes.
  • Order raw materials such as cement, fly ash, chemical admixtures and aggregates through coordination of Materials Manager. 
  • Maintain adequate and cost effective inventory levels of all products.
  • Perform various quality control tasks such as moisture checks, slump tests, air entertainment tests and temperature of materials.
  • Implementation and support of company safety and environmental programs.
  • Perform end of day cleanup on batch plant. 
  • Supervise and assist various plant maintenance functions.
  • Assist in maintenance of computerized batching equipment.
  • Perform daily paperwork, including production reports as necessary.
  • Ensure mixer drivers are cleaning trucks during off peak times.
  • Assist Maintenance department in ensuring equipment is in proper working order through communication with the Fleet Manager.
  • Dispatch and schedule drivers as to ensuring adequate concrete delivery.
  • Maintain retail store inventories and customer service for retail for superior customer service.      

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or
  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary: $80,000-$85,000 annually
