Youth Development Worker

The Community Charter School of Paterson is seeking Youth Development Workers. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ability to create outstanding academic achievement and student character development.
2. Create a positive, achievement-oriented and structured learning environment that excites and invests students.
3. Motivate students to realize high academic and behavioral standards.
4. Utilize data from CCSP’s student assessments to drive intervention.
5. Exemplify CCSP’s core values in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
6. Support all special education-related services including Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) during the program.
7. Collaborate with Site Leaders and the program team to improve instructional, culture-building and leadership skills.
8. Attend all professional development, team planning, and data analysis meetings.
9. Participate enthusiastically in structured and informal learning and development opportunities.
10. Team player: maturity, humility, strong work ethic, follow-through, sense of humor, willingness to respond positively to feedback and a “roll-up-my-sleeves” attitude.
11. Strong belief in an “achievement” mission and educational model.
12. Research and stay up to date on best practices in community schools and afterschool programs.
13. Understanding and experience of education in an urban setting.
14. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, families and school partners including school administration and staff.
15. Ability to work well with a team and independently.
16. Have a passion for helping all children achieve their highest aspirations. 
17. Assist in classroom management while implementing specialized activities.
18. Support program administrative requirements including student attendance, surveys, forms, and lesson plans. 
19. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma 
• 30 College Credits
• 1 Years of Experience in Youth Development preferred
• Experience working with Special education children preferred
