Summary

Perform light vehicle maintenance as part of a team in our large, modern facility.
Training, Tools, and Technology are all provided.

Essential Duties

• Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil

• Replace oil and air filters

• Inspect vehicle fluid levels; replace or replenish as necessary

• Check tire pressure and add air if needed

• Lubricate moving parts with specified lubricants

• Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor

• Keep customers' cars clean and notify service advisor of any condition changes

• Maintain a high level of grooming, hygiene, and uniform appearance

• Conduct all business with sincerity, honesty, and genuine concern for customers

• Work within customer estimates

• Inspect every repair order and vehicle for proper job completion

• Clean the windshield and vacuum every vehicle

• Advise Manager of any needed repairs or services

• Notify Service Manager of any situation that jeopardizes safety or dealership integrity

• Perform work as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately

• Sell lubrication, safety inspection, and related services

• Keep shop area neat and clean

• Maintain and account for all dealership-owned tools and manuals

• Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., hazardous waste, OSHA)

• Operate all tools and equipment safely

Marginal Duties

• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts

• Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by Service Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Education and/or Experience

• No prior experience or training required

Language Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

• Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10s and 100s

• Ability to perform basic operations using U.S. money, weight, volume, and distance

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions

• Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Valid Driver�s License required

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

• Talk or hear; and occasionally climb or balance

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, occasionally more than 100 lbs

• Have vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to:

• Moving mechanical parts
