Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist Quality Manager as liaison between Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering relative to customer specifications, customer quality requirements, and customer problems.
- Assist with the review of customer complaints, analysis of claims, and make recommendations for corrective action.
- Lead plant in implementing statistical methods and establishing in control and capable processes through the development of process flows, fishbone diagrams, FMEA’s, and control plans.
- Develop and implement quality procedures, quality plans, quality performance trends, statistical plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead process improvement teams when required; This includes assisting with corrective action development and training.
- Assist in conducting system, product and process audits.
- Assist QA Technicians with plant responsibilities and provide training, including areas such as spec interpretation, calibration and material review.
- Update Quality Assurance procedures, quality plans, work instructions and forms when required.
- Assist with supplier management activities such as supplier audits, supplier approvals, and supplier corrective actions.
- Work with Engineering to develop simple and efficient methods of testing and inspecting products.
- Monitor all manufacturing processes through audits and daily evaluations to ensure that processes are being followed.
- Travel as necessary to customers and suppliers to assist with quality improvement activities.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or military environments, with demonstrated expertise in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation, or direct involvement in quality engineering and assurance activities.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution
- At least five (5) years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or military environments, with demonstrated expertise in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation, or direct involvement in quality engineering and assurance activities.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes and principles. Requires experience in product and process failure analysis and an understanding of quality techniques such as SPC, TQM, Kaizen, MRB etc. Six sigma is a plus.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and lead training sessions across teams.
- Proficiency with computer and analytical software/data tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Excel)
- Demonstrated initiative and discretion in handling confidential information, with a consistent ability to meet deadlines and collaborate effectively in team environments.
- Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions using structured problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA.
- Strong risk assessment and mitigation skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Ability to analyze quality data and metrics to support decision-making and drive performance improvements
- Knowledge of Quality methods, techniques and equipment to include instruments and complicated drawings.
