JOB SUMMARY:
This role is responsible for the management of international shipments in a timely, compliant, and cost efficient manner. Participate in compliance, carrier performance, and cost comparison reviews. In addition, this individual will be the key point of contact for warehousing, international trade, cross docking, freight forwarders, distribution centers, third party logistics providers, and dealer support. They will also be responsible for coordinating timely results in ad hoc shipment reporting and the execution of logistics freight payment resolution, reporting and audit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the transportation of POs from factory to KLIM/509/Polaris DC.
- Assist with department training. General backup and support for logistics team
- Responsible to monitor and audit Importer Security Filing, clearances, electronic shipping notifications, and other international required notifications.
- Responsible for data integrity and presentations related to shipments key performance metrics, program updates with conjunction to purchase orders and parts production.
- Mange on-going partner relationships with daily point of contact for freight forwarders, customs brokers, and trucking partners with ensuring carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
- Analyzes and evaluates design concepts and integration to support requirements for technology and distribution network trends to determine if concepts satisfy support requirements. Implements, monitors and adjusts solutions to ensure the integration in the department as appropriate.
- Authorize and audits roughly $18 million in PO and all freight payments within the year.
- Point of escalation for freight forwarders, customs brokers, and trucking partners.
- Document policies or procedures for logistics activities.
- Analyze and recommend logistics solutions to optimize cost, transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency efficiencies.
- Assist in 3PL distribution centers operation to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, or timeliness objectives.
- Review global, national, or regional transportation or logistics reports for ways to improve efficiency.
- Assists supervisor in adhering to international, product, and trade compliance programs and documentation.
- Complete analysis and incorporate improvements as processes change and/or new tools are developed.
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Supply Chain Management or related field
3+ years’ experience in Logistics or Supply Chain field is required
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficient in the use of personal computers; Microsoft Word and Excel software.
Knowledge of Incoterms and general transportation terms.
Experience using freight optimization software is preferred.
Strong analytical understanding and capacity to perform analytical functions.
Strong interest and understanding of ecommerce business, drop shipping, carrier management.
Basic understanding of Supply chain management in a wholesale distribution environment.
Basic knowledge of product and trade compliance and the selection of tariff classifications.
Experience leading people or desire to do so in the future preferred
Understanding of accounting principles and financial metrics
Ability to manage multiple work streams concurrently
Ability to prioritize activities to achieve optimal results
Provides occasional guidance, some of which is technical
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Standard office environment, with potential to enter warehouse environment occasionally
- Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.
