Long Term Substitute School Psychologist  needed at East Shore Middle School to cover a leave from approximately 12/5/2025 until the end of the school year.
  Current CT School Psychologist certification (070) required.  
  Daily rate of pay $145 for the first 30 consecutive days then will increase to $281.11 from Day 31 to the end of the assignment.

 SUMMARY/GOAL OF POSITION:
 To facilitate the learning process through the effective application of diagnostic,
 teaching and consultation skills.
 
 INSTRUCTION: (Illustrative not inclusive)
 
 -Evaluates behavior on the basis of clinical observations, interviews with
 students, teachers, other school staff and parents, reports of other
 professionals, review of school records and test results;
 -Analyzes the psycho-educational strengths and needs of the individual child;
 -Provides educational, vocational and personal recommendations based upon
 psycho-educational evaluations of individual needs;
 -Interprets findings to teachers to assist them in working effectively and
 sensitively with their students in order to strengthen academic progress;
 -Advises and counsels parents in order to facilitate the educational progress of
 their children;
 -Plans and implements non-biased assessment practices.
 
 ORGANIZATION:
 
 -Works with school team to coordinate Planning and Placement Team
 meetings;
 -Understands and facilitates compliance with all laws, procedures and
 requirements related to the PPT process;
 -Maintains records, minutes, master lists and related paper work as required
 by law and Department of Pupil Personnel Services procedures;
 -Counsels students as mandated through the PPT process;
 -Monitors implementation of programs recommended by the PPT;
 -Facilitates the team’s development of plans for individualizing educational
 programs for students
 
 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
 Thorough knowledge of subject(s) taught; thorough knowledge of elementary,
 secondary or special education principles, practices and procedures; thorough
 knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching; thorough
 knowledge of school division rules, regulations and procedures; ability to
 establish and maintain standards of behavior; ability to deliver articulate oral
 presentations and written reports; ability to establish and maintain effective
 working relationships with staff, students, administration, and parents.
