Position Summary:

 

The Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Manager is a pivotal leadership role that oversees nursing guidance, clinical practice, and staff development across all nursing areas.  This positions entails assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices at the departmental level.  The Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Manager ensures the delivery of high-quality , safe, and appropriate nursing care, maintains the competency of clinical and support staff, and manages resources and services effectively related to patient care.

In addition, this role demands compliance with organizational policies and procedures while demonstrating fiscal responsibility and accountability.  The Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Manager translates evidence-based patient care strategies into practical frontline applications.  Through efficient management and leadership, the Nurse Manager drives strategic, financial, and human resource planning, performance improvement initiatives, and patient-centered care while fostering exceptional customer service for patients and their families.

The Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Manager is accountable to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical and support staff, and appropriate resource and service management related to patient care. The Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Manager must also ensure services and care are provided abiding by the policies and procedures of the organization, demonstrate fiscal responsibility and accountability. The Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible and accountable for implementing  safe, evidence-based patient care strategies into frontline reality by effectively and efficiently managing and leading in area of responsibility for the strategic, financial and human resource plans, performance improvement initiatives, appropriate clinical practice knowledge, and customer service for patients and their families.

Qualifications:

Valid Florida RN license

Current BLS Certification and CPI certifications

BSN required, MSN preferred

Minimum six months of experience in psychiatric facility required

At least one year of clinical experience required.  

Leadership experience of 1-2 years in a psychiatric or acute care setting preferred

Proficiency in staffing, scheduling, payroll management, and customer service initiatives

Demonstrated interpersonal skills during an interview.
