Job Purpose: The goal of the accounting intern will be to obtain entry level experience and valuable connections as an accountant in the music industry.
What You’ll Do:
Help update and enhance departmental overhead reporting.
Record journal entries consistent with US GAAP
Gather supporting documentation for various accounting records
Take on research projects to assist the team with role-specific items
Archive check images
Generate invoices to send to affiliates and external parties for masters uses, royalties, and service fees
Assist with other accounting processes as needed
Who You Are:
Currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in Accounting
Passionate about the music and entertainment business, and have a desire to build a career in the industry
Able to adapt quickly to a changing environment with minimal disruption
An excellent communicator and enthusiastic collaborator who works well with team members, external partners, and senior management
You are hungry to learn and grow. You are curious, ask questions and get excited about new projects
A highly organized person that pays close attention to the details and can effectively time manage their responsibilities and tasks
Proven Excel experience
Sound, professional presence over the phone and during times of stress
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic computer skills
Experience using CRM and accounting information systems are a plus
Knowledge of Excel Macros is a plus
Flexible working hours during semester (ideally 10+ hours a week), 30 hours per week required during summer
Availability for the spring semester and summer
