The Opportunity

As an integral member of the Chelsea Piers Fitness team, the Membership Sales Consultant will build the clubs high-quality membership base through a strong sales effort.

Our Membership Sales Consultants are responsible for building and maintaining Chelsea Piers’ member base through excellent customer service, strategized sales techniques, knowledge of our programs and facility, and a genuine passion for fitness and athletics. At Chelsea Piers, we invest in our employees’ professional growth. As part of our sales team, you will be expected to achieve monthly goals and develop professionally by attending annual sales and customer service trainings.

 

Schedule: Full-Time, 4 weekdays and 1 weekend day (8 hour shift)

Compensation: $75,000 - $100,000 (expected base + commission)

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Adoption of relationship-based sales philosophy focused on information discovery
  • Prospecting, lead generation, and building of referral business
  • Sale of new memberships
  • Mastery of all member opportunities within the club; connecting new members to areas of interest to set them up for success and long-term membership
  • Working cohesively with a team of Sales Account Managers and a Membership Director to be successful individually and as a team
  • Establishing a strong sales pipeline, meeting sales objectives, and collaborating with a team to achieve the overall goals of the business
  • Managing select events geared towards engaging the membership base and/or generating interest in and excitement around the club
  • Serving as a visible and active goodwill ambassador with members and at select special events
  • Delivering superior customer service with an aim towards member retention


Qualifications

  • 1+ years of Membership Sales experience, preferably in a high-end fitness environment
  • Self-motivated/entrepreneurial spirit with an outgoing, diligent, and affable disposition
  • Superior customer service skills; excellent and clear communication skills, both verbal and written; strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Passion for fitness with a team-first mentality
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work on nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
