Erie Family Health Centers, a nationally recognized top workplace with 13 sites in Chicago and suburbs, is looking for a valuable addition to our Facilities Team! The Facilities Technician is responsible for routine maintenance of facilities and equipment and conducting periodic safety inspections to ensure a safe working environment.

Compensation is based on each candidate’s experience, skills and education within the range identified for the role. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements of the role will start at entry in the range. Any additional skills, experience and education will be reflected in the compensation offered.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs basic level maintenance, which includes changing light bulbs and ballasts, HVAC filters/belts, routine painting and touch ups, light electrical, light plumbing, and some carpentry.
- Performs special tasks or assignments that comply with the housekeeping maintenance and cleanliness of the facility upon request.
- Set up rooms for meetings.
- Performs ground keeping, such as snow removal and salting, cutting grass and weeding, sweeping, and graffiti removal.
- Facilitates security; responding to security related calls, checking to ensure that all doors and windows are closed and locked, making routine rounds, monitoring safety hazards, and reporting any signs of vandalism to the supervisor.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Skills and Knowledge
Required:
- Basic knowledge (i.e., reading and math competency) equivalent to the completion of high school.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Basic maintenance skills including electrical, the safe operation of electrical plumbing and HVAC systems and carpentry repair with a demonstrated ability to safely operate power tools required.
- Ability to lift to fifty (50) pounds required.
- A valid Illinois driver’s license, in case they need to drive an Erie vehicle or drive between sites, is required
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively in English required.
- Basic remodeling skills required.
- Knowledge of OSHA and Joint Commissions standards regarding hazardous materials
- and cleaning requirements required.
- Good customer service skills required.
- 2+ years’ experience in facilities/maintenance required.
Preferred:
- Basic automotive maintenance skills are preferred.
- Experience in a health care environment preferred
