Working as part of our Batch & Furnace team, you will be responsible for ensuring the furnace is operating safely and effectively. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure safe and effective operation of the furnace, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and control furnace temperature, pressure, and other critical parameters.
- Track and analyse furnace performance data, identifying trends and anomalies.
- Take prompt corrective actions to address any operational issues or deviations from standard procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding furnace status and any concerns.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all actions taken, including maintenance activities and operational adjustments.
- Conduct regular inspections of furnace equipment and associated systems to identify potential problems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks and assist with more complex repairs as needed.
- Manage and optimise fuel consumption to ensure efficient furnace operation.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth production flow and meet quality standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance furnace efficiency and productivity.
- Assist in training new team members on furnace operation procedures and safety protocols.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials used in the furnace process.
- Comply with all environmental regulations related to furnace operations.
- Attend and contribute to regular team meetings and safety briefings.
This position is a shift position working 12 hours shifts 4 on 4 off.
Qualifications:
- Prior background working in industrial production, preferably a chemical processing facility
- Able to work independently
- Able to follow written and verbal instruction
- Able to demonstrate basic computer skills including Microsoft Office products
- Able to demonstrate mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and operating instructions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records
